BUTTERFLY

BUTTERFLY

Picture credit Collette Mc Hugh 2020

Thoughts flittering across memories

Gaining colour and tone,

From each crayon of individual memory.

As a butterfly in a colouring book, From a black outline,

To vibrant visual display.

reflection of a life.

With all life’s joys and sorrows.

The richness and vitality pulsing its way from dark recesses Parading itself once more,

Into moving film, seen only within

The mind’s eye.

Yet expressed in words so descriptive

That the listener, hearing. Fills their own internal Bunerfly with colours.

SNOW THOUGHTS

Down the brae they slither and slide, Bending and weaving from side to side, Laughter gurgling in their wake,

Warm cheeks melting the soft snow flake.

Into the snow they tumble and toss, Head over heels on glistening gloss. Happy and free they toss and play.

School thoughts tomorrow, snow thoughts today
