Church Sins

I met a man of the cloth today

He told me

“50 years I am a priest”

I asked my son

To extend his hand

Polite, respectful,

As my parents taught me

How times have changed

I offered up a silent prayer

For the sacrilege of:

Lost innocence,  broken minds

The Churches’ sins

I made me think

What my mother preached

Don’t paint everyone

You meet

With the same

Brush shades

Leave judgement

To the Man above

He will separate

The chaff from the wheat

And judge, accordingly.
