Living with men
Here we go again!
The toilet lid is thrust manly up.
And the shining bowl gets its daily spray.
Bulls Eye Aim! I hear it beg.
Disappointed it wipes its face
Here we go again!
Pants adorn the bedroom floor
Marked as worn
Peeping out from beneath the sheet
Crumpled sock has lost its mate
Clothes carelessly languish in a pile
Joining their mates from another time
Man towels worn with panache and style.
In artful heap soggy now beneath his feet
Body beautiful flexed, admired.
In mirror, cloudy, from steamy shower
Here we go again!
Shaving ritual, evident still
Hairs sticking to basin’s rim
Shaving cream’s dripping grin
Abandoned on the damp window sill
Amongst the array of men’s beauty mates
and Callum Best after shave
The toilet lid thrust manly up
Sharing space
With the men at my place.
