| O god of war what have you done?
Governing sin from beyond the Sun Projecting fear, a need to fight By greedy men and their moral rights Since when does reason get in the way Of a warriors need to have their day?
The Greeks, they were your first born child They set the scene for millennia wild Roman desires were rewarded well Empires thrive on innocents’ hell Do you serve to improve by weeding the weak? Or is it vile, vicious, violence you seek?
Man spreads your fear from up on high “If we don’t act, many will die” And who is sent to wars front line To fight and die while ministers dine? Our sons and daughters don’t you know Filled with pride to kill the foe
Then a hero returns, battered and scarred No longer of use, set to discard Help for heros step to the plate To hold trembling hand of broken mate And this is your way of showing faith Destroy the enemy, forget those who paid
Your pulse beats hard in men of power A reason for war at any hour An innocent’s hell through your force It barely slows man’s cancerous growth Driven by power, money and greed The weak despair, desist, die, the strong succeed
All have felt the pulse inside Slow to fall and quick to rise Are you a god in heavens reign? Or just a space man, an alien? And did you visit eons ago? Embedded your ways in mans poor soul?
We can awaken if we act as one Quell the hatred of another’s son Wake up all to what we do Ensure that love shows through and through All it takes is a change of mind And the pulse of Zeus will be left behind |
